Art council

The Artistic Council of the Orchestra of the Slovak National Theater Opera is the highest body of the orchestra, a partner of the chief conductor and a regular advisory body to the director of the SND Opera. It is composed of the first players of the SND Opera Orchestra. It primarily deals with issues of the artistic qualities of the orchestra, staffing within its scope, effective setting of the playing and rehearsal schedule of the SND Opera and Ballet Orchestra.

The main functions of the art board

Artistic direction: The council helps define the long-term artistic direction of the orchestra. He cooperates in creating the best possible conditions for the work of orchestra members. Its goal is effective support and control of the orchestra's artistic level.
Selection of conductors: Part of the council's work is the evaluation and recommendation of conductors who, through their work with the orchestra, significantly contribute to the high-quality performance of the orchestra.
Interpretation and artistic performance: The Council evaluates the artistic performance of the orchestra. Cooperates in solving and correcting any deficiencies. He is part of the committee for the selection of new members of the orchestra.
Coordination with other components: Cooperates with other components on joint projects. He comments on the setting of the trial process. He cooperates in the creation of internal standards and regulations regarding the orchestra.
